Duckspool in India

ITINERARY

This will not be a guided tour to places to place your tripod. Peter Goldfield will provide photographic guidance where requested and we will go to  places and events that will be stimulating to all photographers and artists, and those just plain interested in a world that is often beyond their wildest imaginings.

Raghu Rai, India's most distinguished photographer will be introducing us to the country he has been photographing for almost forty years. An internationally renowned Magnum photographer; he has produced an array of books on India.

Sanjay Acharya,  is also expected to join us; he has taught photography to students in Delhi and is presently working as a photographer for the UN

There will be regular group meetings to discuss our work in process with an opportunity to discuss work with Peter Goldfield. There will be arranged field trips and the chance to travel on one’s own.

Most of the hard work on the ground will be done for us with the help of Mark Tracy (Amano Samarpan), photographer and India guru. (prefers "India Savant" but we'll be the judge!) Mark will be attending the workshop with his excellent knowledge of Delhi and over 20 years experience of living in India.

While Delhi is our notional "base" we will travel out to 3 main sites of interest:
1)      Natural scenery and Tibetan culture at the foot of the Himalayas
2)      The love temples of Khajurao
3)      Agra, the Taj Mahal, and Fatehpur Sikri

IN GENERAL

There will be regular group meetings to discuss our work in process; after all, we are travelling as a group of photographers rather than mere tourists. The days in Delhi with Raghu will involve him looking at our work and talking to us about it! Raghu is concerned with not just the photograph but the one who is responsible for the images.

Breakfast is a good time to meet if only to discover whether someone is not well enough to travel that day!? This is a likelihood but with careful attention to diet and personal hygiene, it need not happen

The workshop is on-going but there will be lots of time to explore on our own or with others; maybe you will just want to take it easy!

Most film types can be bought in Delhi. more details later.
