Duckspool in Delhi

Our base hotel is the centrally located, HOTEL INDRAPRASTHA, in Asoka Road. Indraprastha is the name of the original Delhi and identified as such from scriptures which suggest the city is about 3,000 years old. Hotel Indraprastha has recently had a face-lift and provides clean living accommodation with attached bathroom; single or shared accommodation available. There is room service and TV with phone if you want.

(sorry about the resolution - we'll get some better ones when we're there!

Downstairs there is a small shop in the lobby selling basic necessities as well as books and magazines. In the courtyard outside, there are a couple of telephone booths with local and international lines and ISDN with internet and E-Mail access. There is also a colour lab for basic processing and printing.

Meals can be taken at the hotel in the Canteen or the South Indian Restaurant. Next door, the HOTEL KANIKSHA (which has a swimming pool for use) offers good quality Indian and Chinese Restaurants, the latter being on the 17’th floor and affording a view over the city. Opposite is a Le Meridien Hotel where a number of internationally classed restaurants can be enjoyed.

Costing of meals in these restaurants vary from less than £1 for a meal in the Canteen to the Le Meridien where one might expect to pay a more international price.

The city centre of Connaught Place, a short walk away, also has good restaurants and most of what one is likely to want to buy, including film, can be found. In Connaught Place, one can get access to services such as E Mail and internet access, a GPO and professional quality film processing.
