Photographers at Duckspool Home of the Photography Workshop

MARK TRACY (Amano Samarpan)

Mark has been a part of the workshops at Duckspool for twelve years; his first book, “Indian Birds in Focus” is due out this year. He is currently working on a “black to white” book of photographs portraying Delhi through it’s monuments.  Mark says he will introduce us to the spiritual side of India - an offer you won't get from Sunny Seaside holidays.....

Apart from contributing to "Discover India", an international magazine based in Delhi, and knowing local photographers, he is well experienced in traveling within the country and knows how to avoid many of the pitfalls that await the first time visitor. For instance he says "one of these is reaching your hotel from the airport since taxi drivers are commissioned by hotels to bring you to their door and it is worth understanding that if a driver says your hotel burnt down last week or is in a part of the city sealed off following a terrorist alert, you'll know you are being conned although this still may not be enough to get the driver to go where you want!"

He has practiced meditation for many years, produced a small booklet on the subject entitled “Silent Meditation” illustrated with a few of his photographs. He facilitates meditations for people in the United Kingdom; more recently, working with the NHS, this has come to include mentally ill out-patients!!
