Besides being an artist of international
acclaim, Paul Hill led the Trent/Derby creative photography course from 1976-78

Times. Co-author with Tom Cooper of Dialogue with Photography, Paul has
featured in a number of television programmes, including Exploring
Photography and Contrasts. His numerous exhibitions and articles
include Towards the Inevitable, On Land and Land Marks, which
resulted from his move to the Derbyshire countryside where he set up The

on the absurd, such as designer pet foods! Paul is Professor of Photography at

Workshop History
With an M.B.E. for services to
photography, Paul is one of the most fascinating figures in contemporary
photography. Practical sessions on picture sequencing and working in new
environments.
"Thinking and seeing
photographically". Paul will examine the way we put photographs together,
from sequencing in exhibitions or books to working methodically in the field so
that, by conscious arrangement, individual statements can be made that reflect
the feelings and ideas of the makers. "Single pictures only go so
far..." A master of the positive critique, and a mine of information on the
who where why’s and what’s of Photography, Paul will help you find your
strengths and ways of displaying them!
Paul is author
of Three Perspectives on Photography 1979, Approaching Photography, White Peak, Dark Peak. and with Thomas Joshua Cooper of Dialogue
with Photography.
"The
camera is an instrument that teaches people to see without a camera."
