Dharamsala is a small township nestling in the foothills of the mighty Hymalayan mountains; it is home to the Dalai Lama, the Tibetan people and their Buddhist culture. Khajurao is a village in the centre of India, better known for the string of exotic/erotic/esoteric? temples that surround it. These explain the large group of hotels that can now be found in the vicinity and the nearby airport.

Agra, city of the Mughals, is home to the majestic Taj Mahal as well as a palatial fort where the tomb's creator, Emperor Jehangir spent his final days; nearby is the ruined city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by Akhbar in the 16'th Century, but only inhabited for about 15 years.
